The first I would like to speak about is www.nixle.com

Nixle delivers trustworthy and important neighborhood-level public safety and community event notifications instantly sent to you by cell phone text message, email, and web. There is NO Spam or Advertising.

Nixle is completely free (standard text message rates apply for cell phone subscribers who do not have text plans with their cell phone providers). The service is simple to use, reliable and trusted.

Stay connected to your world, from the public safety alerts that are relevant to you, to the important neighborhood advisories you want to know about, and other valuable community information. You decide what information you want and whether you want it sent to your cell phone, email, or just simply over the web.

The second is our Sex Offender Notification program called OffenderWatch.  I encourage you to sign up for OffenderWatch.  The registry will allow you to enter any local address and will then provide you a list of all registered Laurens County sex offenders living within a one-mile radius within the boundaries of Laurens County . If you are looking for information about a particular sex offender, registered in Laurens County , the registry can help there as well.

I encourage you to take advantage of the free email notification. When a sex offender registers with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office you will be alerted if the offender's address is in Laurens County and within one mile of the address you have entered on your subscription.

I encourage every Laurens County resident to use our email notification system because you are able to register multiple addresses such as your baby sitters home, day care facility, church, school, office or homes your children visit frequently so that those places are also automatically monitored.  

The third service is Laurens County Crime Mapping.  This free service allows citizens the opportunity to view the incidents that are reported to the Laurens County Sheriff's Office.  To view this website click here.
